More than a year after the live events circuit has been put to a sudden stop and we continue to feel the void of not getting a chance to breathe in and feel the inexplicable spirit of going to a live concert–fists up and our heads bobbing to the beat of that one song, just marveling on the experience. With the shift to the new normal, we have all been pushed to a wall to face a new reality, and at the least, we rolled up our sleeves and faced this inevitability.
Music, the artistry and humanity that come with it, a year after this big pause, has never ceased even with the industry badly hit by this unprecedented crisis. From efforts designed to aid those who are hit to lifting our spirits, music has played a big role in allowing our humanity push forth amid the uncertainty and darkness. It’s all too easy to be amazed by the skill and talent artists have been bringing to the table recently, especially amidst the still continuing pandemic and its repercussions we still have to face well into the future, and forget that just like the rest of us, they also have to face the challenges it brought to their creative process as artists and their lives as people.
For this reason, O/C Records, together with Viva Live Inc, presents Odd Creatures Our Cue – a storytelling kind of online concert that puts tales of O/C artists on their struggles as musicians and artists in this pandemic front and center on the virtual stage. Hear these stories on how they cope up with the situation and continuously create music to adapt to the new way of performing.
The eclectic assembly of artists hailing from different creative backgrounds that will present their stories include Kean Cipriano, Unique Salonga, mimiyuuuh, Glaiza de Castro, Dora Dorado, Patty Tiu, Earl Generao, Rice Lucido, Frizzle Anne, Zsaris, Martin Riggs, Cean Jr, Adie, Aly Remulla, and Eugene Layug with The Cips (Cipriano, along with wife and actress Chynna Ortaliza) hosting this online concert.
