MANILA, Philippines —Following the titanic success of her much talked about visual album in 2020, it was only a matter of time until we see multimedia queen Nadine Lustre in all her glory, doing what she does best in a platform she has long mastered, as Careless Music and kumu Live, announced the hottest news this week of her upcoming first solo concert entitled “Absolute Madness.”
Bringing “Wildest Dreams” to its ultimate culmination, the concert is set to air online through kumu Live’s streaming platform on July 3, 2021 at 7 PM. With the visual album bringing us all a groundbreaking first, all eyes are set on this concert again, marking yet another historic turn for the actress and musician serving a unique marriage of live concert and theatrical stage production.

Produced by Careless Music and shot by The Finest, Menchu Lauchengco-Yulo steers the wheel as director of the production. Aptly dubbed as the “first lady of Philippine musical theatre,” Direk Menchu was associate director and also main cast of the musical theater play “Ang Huling El Bimbo” which ran for two successful seasons back in 2018 and 2019, not to mention an equally momentous and historic nationwide streaming and charity cause staged in 2020, helping greatly the vast majority of Filipinos gravely impacted by the pandemic.
Joining Yulo, of course, is Lustre and her hands-on participation in bringing her vision to reality, with rehearsals underway alongside featured artists as James Reid, Massiah, and A-Team. Now, with kumu Live as a platform to stream the highly-anticipated concert, “Absolute Madness” is gearing up to be another product of great Filipino artists’ and creators’ concerted efforts.
On the creative process involved in the production, Direk Menchu shares, “She [Nadine] was instrumental in creating the concept. It was inspired by ‘Alice Through The Looking Glass.’ Nadine wanted it to encompass a magical land. When I asked her what her idea of refuge or fantasy was, she replied NATURE.”
The acclaimed theater veteran furthered that working with Lustre is unlike anything she has ever done before. ”Being able to collaborate with Nadine and create a totally new concept was incredible. Nadine had all these great ideas, my challenge was to see those ideas through.”

“Absolute Madness” picks up from where the Wildest Dreams Visual Album left off, tying up loose ends of the artist’s ever-evolving narrative in her constant search in finding herself, packaged majestically in a delectable sonic and visual experience.
kumu, a mobile streaming platform in the Philippines, kicked off a desktop version of their app to cater to live streaming ticketed events. With its continued support for Careless Music and for Lustre herself since the release of the Wildest Dreams Visual Album back in October of 2020, led to another big collaboration for this upcoming show made by and in collaboration with world class Filipino talents.
