Filipino Mythology Gets a Creative Revamp in this Virtual Theater Showcase

Events & Festivals

MANILA, Philippines — Amid the ongoing global health crisis, we have seen how the arts have built a channel and outlet for normalcy and sanity in a time of darkness and uncertainty. With this, the DLSU Harlequin Theatre Guild, the premier and only recognized theater organization of the De La Salle University, will be presenting its 2nd online production entitled DuLa Salle 2k20: Kalooban.

Keeping up with the tradition of championing varying DuLa Salle themes every year, this year’s showcase presents an anthology series consisting of eight uniquely-told stories that tackle modern Filipino values and social issues through the form of Filipino mythology and epics.

DuLa Salle 2k20: Kalooban will be showcased for three days from May 20-22, and will be broadcast via the Animospace platform and a closed Facebook group on its last day.

The event is staged in partnership with the multi-art organization Pelikulove, founded by Ellen Ongkeko-Marfil, who has offered multiple courses in playwriting like the Rody Vera Online Playwriting Course. The writers from the eight participating stories of DuLa Salle 2k20: Kalooban all hail from the said organization.
