Barefoot Theatre Collaborative Brings ‘Bar Boys: A New Musical’ from the Screen to the Stage this May

MANILA, Philippines—Barefoot Theatre Collaborative, renowned for its acclaimed productions such as “Mula Sa Buwan“, “Pride Plays”, and “The Last Five Years”, is gearing up to unveil its latest masterpiece: “Bar Boys: A New Musical”.

This original Filipino musical, adapted from the beloved 2017 Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino film by Kip F. Oebanda, chronicles the lives of four friends on their quest to uphold justice in the Philippines.

Helming the creative vision are director Pat Valera and co-director Mikko Angeles, while all-original compositions are crafted by Myke Salomon, who also takes on the role of musical director.

The production boasts a stellar lineup of talents, including choreographer Jomelle Era, set designer Ohm David, and lighting designer Meliton Roxas Jr., among others.

Leading the ensemble cast are Alex Diaz, Benedix Ramos, Jerom Canlas, and Omar Uddin as the titular bar boys, supported by a seasoned cast featuring Sheila Francisco, Juliene Mendoza, and Kakki Teodoro, among others.

With performances slated for a three-week run from May 3 to 19 at the Power Mac Center Spotlight Blackbox Theater, Circuit Makati, theater enthusiasts are urged to secure their tickets promptly. Ticket sales commence on February 24 via Ticket2Me (bit.ly/barboystickets), with a limited availability of over 250 tickets per show.
