Julia Barretto & Marco Gumabao Mark First Onscreen Debut with Romance, Drama, and Magic Realism

Screening Room

MANILA, Philippines — Cignal, Sari-Sari Channel and Viva Entertainment for TV5 are bringing a story of love found and lost, and moving forward in life without regrets, combining gripping drama, romance, and an interesting infusion of magic realism in upcoming original title Di Na Muli.

The story is told through the eyes of Yanna, played by Barretto, a woman burdened with precognition of specific events in the future. Her ability makes her aware of how life is so fleeting and how time can pass you by if you fail to value every moment. She then learns the importance of life and how it should be spent with love and by loving.

“I try my best everyday, and every time I’m given the opportunity and I always try to be at my best to perform and deliver. And I just want to make everybody around me proud and everybody who trusts me with a project proud and I guess it’s always been the goal to breathe life into the character I’m given,” the young 24-year-old actress notes when asked about bridging the gap from her last television appearance.

Barretto plays alongside two of the sought-after young actors in the industry today. Marco Gumabao plays the role of Mico, the man who challenges the lead character’s perspective on love. This series marks the first on-screen debut of the Julia-Marco tandem that fans have long been clamoring for. Their online vlogging has been gaining a strong fanbase, and their followers have been vocal about wanting to see them paired on screen.

Marco Gallo stars as CJ, Yanna’s long-time friend, through him she learns to appreciate and value time with your loved ones.
