Reflecting on their partnership with Phum Viphurit, PREP recounts, “During our tour in Thailand, amidst the intensity of performing at some of our largest shows, Phum connected with us and led us to a serene studio where we could unwind together. Surrounded by lush greenery and the playful laughter of children outside, the song effortlessly came to life in that tranquil setting.”

Having recently completed a tour across Asia in 2023, including standout performances at VERY Festival in Thailand and Clockenflap in Hong Kong, PREP has amassed over 500,000 monthly listeners and subscribers from Southeast Asia alone. This significant growth underscores PREP’s evolution and expanded sonic possibilities, particularly in Asia, which keyboardist Llywelyn ap Myrddin describes as a pivotal moment for the band’s trajectory.

Formed in 2015, PREP channels contemporary R&B and electronica while drawing inspiration from the smooth, ethereal sounds of the late ’70s and early ’80s—a style affectionately referred to as yacht rock. Vocalist-lyricist Tom Havelock, keyboardist Llywelyn Ap Myrddin, drummer Guillaume Jambel, and producer Dan Radclyffe collectively infuse their diverse musical backgrounds into PREP’s distinctive sound.
