Laufey’s Asia Triumph: From Sold-Out Tour to Global Virality

MANILA, Philippines—Following her triumphant first-ever sold-out Asia tour, the Los Angeles-based Icelandic-Chinese artist, Laufey, continues to captivate the region. Her single “From The Start,” released two months ago, is reaching new heights, amassing over 1 million daily streams on Spotify and nearing 1.5 million across DSPs. Celebrating its success, Laufey releases the mesmerizing “From The Start” Live From Manila performance video.

From The Start” knows no bounds, entering Spotify’s Top 50 tracks in the USA and ranking impressively in Singapore (#72) and the Philippines (#141). It also shines on the US and Global Shazam charts.

As a glimpse of her highly anticipated album ‘Bewitched,’ set for release on September 8 via AWAL Recordings, Laufey recently unveiled “Promise,” co-written with acclaimed songwriter/producer Dan Wilson (Adele, The Chicks).

The rising sensation, accomplished a groundbreaking first Asia tour, enthralling sold-out audiences across Southeast Asia and gracing the prestigious Java Jazz Festival in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Bewitched,’ her highly anticipated album, follows her 2022 debut full-length ‘Everything I Know About Love’, which secured the #1 spot on Billboard’s Alternative New Artist Album chart, with the hit single “Valentine” reaching #1 on the Spotify Jazz Chart.

Co-produced by Laufey and Spencer Stewart, the album features all-original songs, except for the jazz standard “Misty.” Notably, the London-based Philharmonia Orchestra adds a captivating touch to tracks “Bewitched” and “California and Me.”

“As a musician, my goal is to bring jazz and classical music to my generation through a more accessible road” the artist explains. 

Laufey will continue to celebrate the album’s success on The Bewitched Tour, which promptly sold out within minutes. The tour promises enchanting performances at iconic venues throughout North America, including two nights at San Francisco’s Fillmore, Chicago’s Thalia Hall, New York City’s Town Hall, and Los Angeles’ Theatre at the Ace Hotel.
