The long wait is finally over! Well, July is four months away, but who’s counting?! World-famous entertainment-streaming platform, Netflix has just dropped an exciting treat with the release of the official trailer of the highly-anticipated series, Stranger Things. Down for its Season 3 return on the 4th of July this year, Stranger Things intrigues its loyal fanbase with a peek into the high-octane adventure following the supernatural happenings in the lives of its young protagonists.

This time, Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo), Mike (Finn Wolfhard), Lucas (Caleb McLuaughlin), and Will (Noah Schnapp) return as they deal with adolescence and of course, otherworldly entities in the small town of Hawkins, along with adults Chief Hopper (David Harbour), Joyce (Winona Ryder), Steve (Joe Keery), Nancy (Natalie Dyer), and Jonathan (Charlie Heaton). Following the introduction of new characters in its previous season, the trailer also shows Sadie Sink and Dacre Montgomery reprising their roles as Max and Billy respectively.

The trailer, a hodgepodge of cheerful, poignant, then dark, twisted scenes, as is expected, shows the beloved group of characters as they battle not only monsters and supernatural phenomena, but the inevitable intricacies of transitioning to young adults–with them growing up as teenagers for their third outing as a group.

The trailer starts fresh and fun with Dustin being welcomed from camp by his army of friends before things take a dark turn, exposing what’s next for the season of chills and action-packed adventure–backed by The Who’s “Baba O’Reilly”, which may actually reflect the season’s theme of teen angst.

The hit series’ return will not only answer cliffhangers left in its last season, but will surely generously hark back to lots of ’80s references that it has become known for. With all the drama, action, and all the throwback, the four-month wait will definitely be worth it!
