MANILA, Philippines—adidas introduces the reimagined SUPERNOVA franchise with the unveiling of the first among three new silhouettes, the SUPERNOVA RISE. Available in both women’s and men’s specific last, this innovative running shoe is crafted to provide maximum comfort to enable everyday runners to maintain a distraction-free stride.
During the development phase, the Product and Design teams drew inspiration from research conducted by adidas with 1,300 female runners, highlighting comfort as a paramount consideration for everyday runners when selecting their running shoes.

Drawing on these valuable insights and leveraging years of expertise in creating performance running shoes for athletes across proficiency levels, the adidas Product team explored cutting-edge technology from other adidas Running franchises. The aim was to seamlessly integrate these advancements into the new SUPERNOVA silhouettes.
The outcome is the introduction of Dreamstrike+, a groundbreaking midsole foam inspired by LIGHTSTRIKE PRO—the midsole material utilized in the record-breaking ADIZERO franchise. However, Dreamstrike+ features an updated formula that promises unparalleled comfort and cushioning. This cutting-edge material is employed throughout the entire midsole of SUPERNOVA RISE and SUPERNOVA SOLUTION. In the case of the SUPERNOVA STRIDE model, it is strategically positioned in the forefoot region alongside an EVA compound midsole, providing runners with a personalized comfort experience tailored to their unique needs.

JT Newcomb, Category Director of adidas Running Footwear, expresses excitement about the introduction of a new phase in the Supernova franchise, focusing on everyday running shoes. The revamp aims to encourage more people to run more frequently, with comfort being a central focus based on feedback from the running community.
The SUPERNOVA RISE and SUPERNOVA SOLUTION models feature the Dreamstrike+ midsole alongside a Support Rod System, inspired by the foot’s motion physiology. This technology is integrated into the outsole, providing synchronized support, transition, and targeted stability. The Support Rod System in SUPERNOVA SOLUTION offers additional support with splinted middle rods. The combination of Dreamstrike+ and the Support Rod System ensures a comfortable and well-supported running experience.

Additional features include a Comfort Heel Fit, combining cushioning foam and soft textile for maximum comfort and support, along with engineered sandwich mesh and meticulous details catering to diverse runner needs.
The SUPERNOVA RISE, inspired by nature and bioluminescence energy, showcases a Black and Aurora base with Semi-Green Spark detailing, priced at PHP 7,500, available for purchase from December 1, 2023. The SUPERNOVA SOLUTION and SUPERNOVA STRIDE will be introduced starting from February 15, 2024.
