MANILA, Philippines—In its 20th year, Pasinaya: The CCP Open House Festival continues to evolve and expand, transcending geographical boundaries to bring arts closer to the Filipino people.
Breaking new ground, the festival ventures beyond the capital city, extending its reach to Visayas and Mindanao simultaneously. From February 3 to 4, 2024, the multi-arts extravaganza will unfold not only at the CCP Complex but also at its partner museums: the Iloilo Museum of Contemporary Arts in Iloilo City and Tagum City, Davao del Norte.

Themed “Sulong” (Move Forward), Pasinaya returns on a grander scale, promising an array of artistic and cultural offerings. Dennis N. Marasigan, CCP’s artistic director, emphasizes the festival’s commitment to providing spaces for artists and cultural groups, fostering talent showcases, and cultivating new audiences keen on embracing the best that the Philippines has to offer.

Pasinaya 2024 boasts a diverse lineup of over a hundred shows, workshops, and activities in music, theater, dance, visual arts, film, and literature. With its innovative “experience-all-you-can, pay-what-you-can” scheme, participants can freely explore different CCP venues, engaging in 30-minute workshops led by renowned artists and educators or immersing themselves in a multitude of shows, screenings, and activities.

The festival kicks off on February 3 at 7 am, featuring an opening salvo and a special program, followed by the traditional flash mob dance to the festival jingle, “Sulong Pasinaya.” Components include Palihan (workshops), Palabas (shows), Paseo Museo (gallery tours), Palitan (business-to-business meetings), Pagtitipon (partnership gatherings), and Pamilihan (goods sale).

In 2023, Pasinaya drew an audience of 37,888, with 12,055 participating in workshops, 24,482 attending shows, and 1,236 enjoying gallery tours. Total donations reached Php 253,514.
With the inclusion of ILOMOCA and Tagum City, CCP aims to surpass previous audience counts, collaborate with more artists, and forge partnerships with additional local government units.
