MANILA, Philippines—B-Boy Engski and B-Girl Yani demonstrated their exceptional talent and prowess, emerging triumphant from a field of over 80 competitors at the inaugural Red Bull BC One Regional Cypher Philippines on March 7, 2024, held at Apotheka, Manila.

Amid intense competition, these two dancers showcased their remarkable skills, captivating both the audience and judges alike, securing the esteemed title of Red Bull BC One Regional Cypher Philippines Champions. With this victory, they solidify their status as premier breakers in the Philippines, embarking on a journey to the global stage.

Alongside second-place finishers B-Boy Killafour and B-Girl Liz, B-Boy Engski and B-Girl Yani will represent their country in Indonesia at the upcoming Red Bull BC One Southeast Asia Regional Final on March 22nd. The stakes are high, as the regional champion in Indonesia will earn a coveted wild card slot at the Last Chance Cypher for the Red Bull BC One World Final in Brazil later this year.

“I’m thankful that such a significant event was hosted here in the Philippines, catering to the hunger of the B-boy and B-girl communities. We’re grateful and hopeful for more events like this to provide opportunities for us from the Philippines,” expressed B-Boy Engksy from Quezon City.

Meanwhile, B-Girl Yani expressed her excitement about the inclusion of B-Girls in the Red Bull BC One Regional Cypher, viewing it as a significant advancement for the breaking community.

“I’m thrilled because for the first time, Red Bull BC One is in the Philippines with a 1-v-1 category. The fact that they’ve opened it up for B-girls fills me with joy and pride, not just for myself, but for the entire breaking community,” she remarked.

Leading up to the Red Bull BC One Regional Cypher, the Red Bull BC One All Stars engaged with the local dance community through a series of workshops led by renowned Filipino breakers such as B-Boy Ronnie and B-Girl Logistx.
