Grab employs a vehicle maximization strategy to ensure efficient service allocation. Optimizing GrabCar Fleet Utilization

In its commitment to platform reliability, Grab has implemented various mobility solutions to enhance the utilization of its existing GrabCar fleet. This strategic approach addresses the demand-supply imbalance, with GrabShare playing a key role. Relaunched in Q1 2023, GrabShare is a carpooling service that matches passengers heading in the same direction, providing a shared vehicle option. If unmatched, passengers receive a GrabCar with a discounted fare through the GrabShare Match Guarantee offer. Currently available in Metro Manila and Metro Cebu, GrabShare contributes to a more efficient and reliable platform.

For passengers arriving at the airport, GrabAirport ensures a reliable booking experience. Collaborating with airport authorities and the LTFRB, GrabAirport offers on-demand ride-hailing services supported by a dedicated Grab fleet for airport pick-ups and drop-offs, addressing the need for safe and transparent airport transportation.

To cater to time-sensitive passengers, Grab introduces Multi-Taxi Type (MTT) booking, allowing the platform to search for vehicle allocation from various mobility options. This includes GrabCar Four-Seater, GrabCar Six-Seater, and GrabTaxi. MTT bookings demonstrate a potential 20 to 30% reduction in allocation time based on pilot runs, ensuring a more reliable and efficient experience, especially for passengers in a hurry.

Collaborating closely with the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), Grab focuses on growing its driver pool to achieve a balance between demand and supply. This year, Grab expanded its fleet by 40% following the opening of new slots by LTFRB.

Amid the Christmas rush, Grab continues onboarding drivers who secured slots from the recent pool of 10,200 TNVS franchises issued in August, activating 4,000 new driver-partners. Proactively growing the driver pool while ensuring safety, reliability, and convenience remains paramount, even during seasonal market changes, notes Ronald Roda, Chief Operating Officer of Grab Philippines.
