Grab and MOVE IT Applaud Top Women Partners Driving Towards Inclusion

MANILA, Philippines—Grab Philippines and its partner motorcycle taxi company MOVE IT honored their top female driver- and delivery partners during the Babae Ako, Babiyahe Ako: Women’s Month Event held on Sunday, March 17.

These exceptional women were commended for their outstanding performance, high order and ride completion rates, and positive customer ratings, setting a shining example of female excellence on the road.

Among the awardees was Veronica Arabe, a 66-year-old GrabTaxi driver-partner from Baguio City, who shared her transformative journey with Grab. Another remarkable honoree was Arianne Hinara Claire Geguera, the youngest GrabCar driver-partner in Iloilo City, who embarked on her driving career to save up for her board exam review.

Sheryl Barrantes from MOVE IT also stood out as one of the top female drivers, expressing gratitude for the significant earnings she has achieved on the platform, which she uses to support her family. Together, these brave and dedicated women drivers and riders send a powerful message to all current and aspiring female drivers: “Kayang-kaya rin namin ‘yan!”

The event not only celebrated the achievements of the awardees but also highlighted Grab Philippines and MOVE IT’s commitment to creating inclusive livelihood opportunities for every Filipino. As part of their social upliftment campaign, GrabAsenso has launched a comprehensive Women Program, offering training sessions on vehicle maintenance, first aid, and preventive servicing, in collaboration with agencies such as TESDA, MMDA, and the Philippine Commission on Women.

Furthermore, Grab Philippines has introduced the Women Preference Toggle on its driver app, which prioritizes the pairing of women drivers with female passengers, enhancing the safety and confidence of female driver-partners on the road.
