RC Cola’s Absurd ‘Family’ Ad Wins Big As GIGIL Nabs Silver Trophy at ADFEST, Asia’s Biggest Ad Show

Brand & Campaigns

MANILA, Philippines — The ad agency that’s taking the Philippines (and the ad world) by storm, independent ideas agency GIGIL, bagged a silver last April 8 in this year’s ADFEST, Asia’s most celebrated creative festival based in Bangkok, Thailand.

This is for its work on RC Cola’s “Family”, which scored the metal in the category “Viral Film.” Rightly so, as it has grown into one of the most iconic ads in the Philippines in recent years.

No other Philippine company won a higher gong, making GIGIL the best-performing Filipino agency in the festival.

RC Cola “Family” was also named the “Best Ad of the Philippines 2020” by adobo magazine, the advertising industry’s premier trade periodical.

The online film has been viewed 16 Million times and has chalked up 222,000 shares.  It has also been featured by international publications like Fast Company, Design Taxi, and Ad Age. It has been studied in MBA classes at the De La Salle University and the Asian Institute of Management. Ellen DeGeneres has shown the film on “The Ellen Show.”

The film resulted in a 67% spike in sales of RC Cola Mega.
