Sleek and modern-looking—you’ve probably seen the Samsung S21 5G in one of your recent Netflix K-Drama binge-watching sesh. If you need a refresher, Song Joong Ki had this smartphone navigate his way into toppling Babel in Vincenzo or swoon over Song Kang and Han So Hee as Park Jae-on and Yu Nabi exchange messages from Nevertheless. True to Samsung fashion, the release of the Samsung S21 5G got us wanting to have a feel of our fave Hallyu stars.

The premium Samsung S21 5G was launched this January 2021. With a few months left into the year, does it still hold up with its predecessor? We list down the four features we loved about this smartphone:

All in the design

The Samsung S21 5G learned a thing or two from its older siblings’ design and tweaked it from a curved display to flat edges. It still maximizes your screen time with a Full HD+ 6.2-inch display with a 1080p resolution. Its hole-punch screen called Infinity O display allows you to watch your videos in full HD glory.

No need to fuss about a slow phone. The Samsung s21 5G boasts of a 120Hz refresh rate. From the numbers itself, lags are non-existent here.

A lot of life

Pandemic and quarantine life have glued us to our smartphones more than ever. While it’s still a bummer we’re stuck at home, the Samsung S21 5G is equipped with a 4000mAh battery that ensures you can use it from your work-from-home device to an all-entertainment buddy. A full day’s use can last you 6 hours and 31 minutes (9 hours and 53 minutes if you’re not using it).

The Samsung Galaxy S21 didn’t stray away from the triple camera setup of the S20. It just improved on it with an even more chic design highlighted with a metal accent. The triple camera comprises of the main 12MP wide-angle lens, a 12MP ultra-wide lens and a 64MP telephoto lens which comes with 3x hybrid optic zoom and 30x space zoom.

The photos come in full color and detail with a little bit of saturation. If sharpness is your thing, then you’ll be happy that each photo comes out in great detail. It’s the same thing when you take a selfie using the front camera.

Ready to perform

The ensure that the Galaxy S21 performs at its top-notch level, it comes with the latest Snapdragon 888 chip. It’s promises 20% better CPU performance and 35% more GPU speed. It also has a boosted AI performance. The only downside we see here is that it doesn’t have an expandable memory. While we tried to max out its 8GB memory, we didn’t experience any slowing down.

Now that we’ve got you up to speed, what’s our final verdict? If you’re a smartphone aficionado that loves it fast and can work those heavy movie marathons or gaming hours, then you’ve got a trusty smartphone in the Samsung S21 5G while feeling cool like Vincenzo or Park Jae-on.
