Rivermaya Releases New Single and Video for “Casino”
Legendary Filipino rock band Rivermaya has released their brand new single “Casino”, their first piece of new music after four years. The ‘Pambansang Banda’ blesses us with a retro-themed track that showcases the iconic grooves, hooks, and sounds that defined the ‘80s.
The band shared that the song was created through online collaboration, citing that the lyrics and melody for the song being written before the pandemic, and the subsequent mixing and putting in the missing pieces happening from the comfort of each of their homes.
Alongside this, the music video was also released, featuring retro-themed aesthetic and design that really fit into the style of the song. With this, Rivermaya is back on track and preparing for future releases, sharing that they are planning on finishing an album soon. “This sets the tone for what’s to come on Rivermaya’s future music-making endeavors,” the band said in a statement.

Sex Education Star Ncuti Gatwa is the Newest Doctor for Doctor Who
Young actor Ncuti Gatwa was recently announced and cast as the latest actor to play the role of ‘Doctor’ for BBC’s long-running hit science-fiction series, Doctor Who.
This serves as a landmark and defining moment for the series and British television as a whole, as the Sex Education star serves as the first person of color to be cast for the iconic role.
Speaking of his new role, he says, “There aren’t quite the words to describe how I’m feeling. A mix of deeply honored, beyond excited and of course a little bit scared. This role and show means so much to so many around the world, including myself, and each one of my incredibly talented predecessors has handled that unique responsibility and privilege with the utmost care.”
The 29-year old will make his debut as the 14th Time Lord in 2023.

The UP Fighting Maroons Triumph over the Ateneo Blue Eagles
In the exciting, do-or-die game 3 of the UAAP Season 84’s Men’s Basketball Championship Final, the UP Fighting Maroons manage to beat the Ateneo Blue Eagles after a gritty and hard-fought battle, taking the crown after 36-year title drought.
UP saw themselves beat the defending champions in an exciting 72-69 overtime triumph at the Mall of Asia Arena last Friday, May 13.
The victory came thanks to JD Cagulangan bagging a championship-winning step-back three pointer with just a fraction of a second left.
Fans from both sides were treated to one of the best games of the season and arguably in the entire history of the UAAP. The Fighting Maroons and Blue Eagles fought their hearts out in an epic, back-and-forth bout against their Katipunan neighbors.
Notable standout performances include Ateneo’s SJ Belangel bagging 27 points, Fighting Maroons Malick Diouf being crowned Finals MVP with an impressive 17 points and 9 rebounds, CJ Cansino forcing overtime with a clutch triple, and of course JD Cagulangan making one of the most historical shots that resulted in a championship.
