Six weeks into its release, Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral continues to make waves online, now with the uniquely-curated poster series harking back various decades in Filipino moviemaking history.

Over a month after its release, Jerrold Tarog’s opus, Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral continues to make waves in its ongoing screenings and even in its presence via social media–be it through fan art, down to hilarious memes that fans and even its own production house–TBA Studios–crafts.

It can be remembered that in the past, lead actor and producer Paulo Avelino crashed the Internet with a Twitter party that he unknowingly created–giving out funny to downright kilig responses to Twitter stans and yes–even the thirsty ones.

Now, six weeks into its release, Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral captures our attention once more, what with the release of specially-designed movie posters made available on its official Facebook page. Created by Andrei Venal, the movie posters are aimed at celebrating Filipino filmmaking through the years, with renditions of the movie’s official poster harking back to past decades in the Filipino moviemaking history.

So, how do you think Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral would have looked at the box office had it been released in the past? See through this uniquely-thought out poster series:

Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral is the second installment in Tarog’s epic film trilogy offering a masterful retelling of history. Goyo, compared to its predecessor, Heneral Luna, is a more subtle adaptation that has carefully woven the portrait of Gregorio del Pilar, the young Filipino general in the midst of the ongoing war for Philippine freedom. The movie, no small thanks to the sensitivity of Tarog, greatly tackled untouched issues on blind loyalty and fanaticism contextualized in the nation’s history.
