SINGAPORE — In an exciting announcement, celebrated singer-songwriter Wrabel showcases his versatile songwriting chops with the release of “london”, a noticeably folkier effort from “one of Hollywood’s finest songwriters for a decade” (American Songwriter). Co-written with Stuart Crichton, Drew Pearson and Cole Citrenbaum, the song tells the story of a LA-based heartbreak longing for a lost London-based love.
With his undeniable knack for sewing together earnest anecdotal nuances with overarching themes of heartache and self-discovery, Wrabel croons alongside lonesome guitar work that feels almost country-bound. It’s the latest release from his forthcoming, much-anticipated debut full-length album ‘these words are all for you’ that is set to drop September 24th. The album will usher in the next chapter from one of modern music’s most celebrated, versatile, powerhouse songwriters and rising artists.
On the track, Wrabel peels back layers to reveal a vulnerable core of longing for love and connection, he elaborates: “London will always be a second home to me. I didn’t go to college, so my months there making my first (and second) imaginary records were kind of my own version of it; being by myself in a whole different world, wandering around and finding myself. My first breakup happened there over the computer. In that feeling that you’ll never love again, I met someone, fell in love again in a cold winter in london. When we broke up, I found myself wanting to go back, wanting to walk the same streets where we met – that so close but so far away feeling.”
Wrabel’s forthcoming debut album has already garnered huge support for his previous singles in South East Asia, with the track “good” added to 13 major radio stations which includes Hard Rock FM Surabaya, Trax FM Palembang, Motion Radio Jakarta, Kiss FM Medan and Kiss 92 Singapore, “nothing but the love” (currently at #35 on the Billboard Adult Pop Airplay chart), and “back to back” (a collaboration with DuncanLaurence which Billboard named one of the “best new music releases from LGBTQ artists” that week).
Wrabel’s resume speaks for itself. He has toured alongside and collaborated with P!nk, has co-writing/performance credits alongside the likes of Marshmello, Ellie Goulding, Kesha, Louis Tomlinson, Louis the Child, Backstreet Boys, Wafia, Cash Cash, and more. He’s released four previous EPs, has racked up 265 million streams across all streaming platforms, and his song “The Village” has become an LGBTQ+ anthem. Over the past few years, his “knife-to-the-heart” (Idolator) songwriting, on-stage charisma, and seemingly limitless vocals have earned him a performance spot on the national NBC TODAY stage and had Billboard saying that Wrabel is “ready for his breakthrough”.
Currently, Singapore, Indonesia and Taiwan are in Wrabel’s Top 20 markets based on streaming.
