It’s A Day of Celebration as St. Vincent Releases New Music with 8-Track Album ‘Daddy’s Home’

USA — St. Vincent fans have a day full of celebration and good music as Annie Clark, famously known as St. Vincent, returns with an infectious new album Daddy’s Home by Loma Vista Recordings. The third single out of its collection, “Down” was released a few days prior, combining the grit of 1970s vinyl and the grain of 1970s celluloid.

Co-directed by St. Vincent herself, and Bill Benz, the “Down” clip features its lead in full Candy Darling morning-after regalia, portraying a woman — under the influence? — careening through a narrative that meshes perfectly with the song’s urgent, anxious grooves.

“Down” follows “Pay Your Way In Pain” and “The Melting Of The Sun” — both performed on St. Vincent’s recent return to Saturday Night Live — as the final song to be released ahead of Daddy’s Home’s arrival. If early response to the album is any indication, it’s going to be a truly rapturous Home-coming.

Daddy’s Home was produced by Annie Clark and Jack Antonoff, recorded by Laura Sisk, mixed by Cian Riordan, and mastered by Chris Gehringer. The music was performed by Annie, Jack, Cian, Thomas, Evan Smith, Sam KS, Greg Leisz, Daniel Hart, Michael Leonhart, Lynne Fiddmont and Kenya Hathaway.
