MANILA, Philippines —In a recent release, Careless Music recording artist Luka drops another English-Arabic track “Ma’adi.” This dancehall-afrobeat track follows the release of his first single of 2021 “Mashi Baeed” featuring “Wildest Dreams” queen Nadine Lustre, which was released a little over two months ago.

The Manila-based Sudanese singer-songwriter has joined the Careless Music roster since 2018 and has worked with label-mates James Reid, as well as other distinguished artists in the country. Over the year, the young musician has experimented with different genres, but has since found his sound in hypnotic dancehall-afrobeat tracks. His first dancehall this year with Lustre discussed heartbreak and pining, while this most recent one goes for a sultrier tone.

“Ma’adi” – which in English translates to “It’s different” – depicts a day towards the end of summer, lusting for a person that makes you whole. It has themes of love, sexuality, and longing. In the track, Luka sensually serenades a lover, enticing her to stay with him until dawn.

Luka shares, “Sharing a moment of passion with someone who accepts all your flows is magical. Turning those moments to songs I can listen to and reminisce is what I’m on right now. If I wrote it down, best believe it happened.”

A visualizer was also produced this month, set in the same universe where we saw Luka and Lustre in the “Mashi Baeed” music video, connecting his two releases of the year.
