SINGAPORE — Following his special performance with Tony-nominated singer/songwriter SaraBareilles of his viral hit “WONDER” reimagined on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Alt-pop singer-songwriter morgxn debuts the official music video for his latest single, “DON’T THINK ABOUT IT”, in which the video depicts a spin on the typical gender reveal party.

The track—a collaboration with GRAMMY-nominated producer and songwriter JennDeCliveo—is from morgxn’s forthcoming EP, ‘MERIDIAN: vol 2’. The EP is the highly anticipated follow-up to ‘MERIDIAN: vol 1’ and is set for release on October 22.

morgxn shares on what the music video means to him: “There is so much pressure and attention on gender as if it’s something new. It’s not,” morgxn explains, “But with headlines like ‘forest fires started by extravagant gender reveals’ it makes me wonder… why gender has become such a heated debate when we are debating something that is, at its core, deeply personal. I loved how this video came to be and NETA BEN EZRA, the director and new mother, really helped lean into the question: is gender anything other than an individual’s unique expression? ”

he EP ‘MERIDIAN: vol 1’ was heavily inspired by a rollercoaster 24-hour period in which morgxn experienced some of his highest highs and lowest lows. Just as the world was going into lockdown due to the pandemic in March 2020, morgxn saw a life-changing day when BillieEilish included morgxn’s single “home” in a list of inspirations behind her GRAMMY-award winning track, “bad guy”.

The EP has seen wide support across Asia, with the single “HOW DO YOU HOLD WHAT HURTS” entering several top hit radio stations in Indonesia as well as landing multiple press features across the region. Currently, morgxn’s Top 10 countries based on streaming include Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia and Singapore.
