Jackson Wang Goes for the Jugular with Electric Ciara Collab and ‘Cheetah’ Track and MV Drop

GLOBAL RELEASE—ICYMI, Jackson Wang, the first-ever Chinese solo artist to perform his own set at the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival global stage just dropped the official music video for his collab with global R&B force, Ciara for their freshly-released track, “Slow.”

Showcasing a unique tapestry of talents and chemistry on this evocative and soul-stirring track, the song blends their signature styles seamlessly with its raw emotion and undeniable groove. The track, co-written by Wang himself, is produced by Grammy-Award winning DVLP (Eminem, J Balvin, Skrillex), Luyo and Tristian Hoogland (Joji, James Blake, Flume).

A dream collaboration, Wang discloses growing up listening to Ciara and he’s been a long-time admirer of the R&B icon. “Collaborating with Ciara was like catching lightning in a bottle. Her energy, passion, and creativity elevated this track to new heights, and her unwavering commitment to excellence inspired us to create something truly magical.”

In response to the excitement for the song, Ciara says, “The first time I heard the song Slow, I knew I wanted to be a part of it. I loved the melodies and the catchiness of the song. Jackson’s voice and his energy are infectious, and I am excited to be part of his incredible journey!”

Creating history at this year’s Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival as the first-ever Chinese solo artist to receive an official invitation from Coachella and perform his own set. Undeniably a breakthrough moment, he then enlisted the help of Ciara for a surprise performance of their new single Leading up to his performance, wang trended No. 1 on Twitter’s worldwide trends with the hashtag #JacksonWangCoachella.

In 2022, Jackson reached a milestone as the first-ever Chinese solo artist to perform on the main stage as part of 88rising’s ‘Head In The Clouds Forever’ set. Again, he trended No. 1 on Twitter’s worldwide trends following the performance, further growing his influence. Jackson returned to the stage last weekend, too, where he showed his extraordinary talent as a live performer.

Following this historic moment, the music video for the track, which was recently released on the superstar’s official accounts is directed by Daniel “Cloud” Campos (Zedd, Paramone, Panic! at the Disco) and features choreography from Mykell Wilson (Prince, Justin Bieber, Britney Spears).

The video delivers a visual feast that showcases Wang and Ciara uniting to display an explosive fusion of their respective styles, creating a dynamic and innovative choreography that features intricate footwork, sharp isolations, and powerful dynamics.

Shortly after, he released his latest single “Cheetah,” following his exhilarating performances on the global stage. The track’s lively, jazz-infused rhythm is produced by Jacob Ray (NIKI, Rich Brian, and Alison Wonderland) and MAX (Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, and The Weeknd). The limited six-city tour will have stops in San Francisco and Chicago, and then wrap up on May 11th in New York at the Barclays Center.
