MANILA, Philippines—While Ben&Ben is widely known for their songs that mirror the bareness of love, some may conclude that the band had already put out enough tracks to throw light on its every aspect. However, their newest single “Dear” reveals that there are still tons of stories left unsaid and there will always be more tales to tell.
It is no longer a surprise how Ben&Ben sweeped five wins including Album of the Year at the recent Awit Awards 2022, but their newly-released single proves that the band still have so much more to deliver. Capturing the essence of romantic love without enforcing expectations or anything in return overflows in their newest track.

“Dear is a song that tries to capture the feeling of a deeper kind of romantic love; one that begins when a person surrenders the pursuit of a lover itself to a higher power,” reveals Ben&Ben.
Penned by Paolo Benjamin and Miguel Benjamin, their new song is a lens to the nine-piece band’s collective and individual experiences with love and the bittersweet lessons that comes with it. Recorded at AR Rahman’s Firdaus Studio, their time at Expo 2020 Dubai brought about this masterpiece.
With its ageless blend of nostalgia and earnestness, “Dear” captures the sound of a generation drawn to the calmness and intensity of pop-rock and singer-songwriter music from the 1970s.
“Unlike most of our tracks that we record individually in the studio, we decided to record this one together as a full band, and we feel the final track really reflects that more ‘old-school’ feeling of looseness and authenticity,” says the multi-award-winning band.
The Paninindigan Kita act adds, “We also just really hope this song connects people together in a way that they remember the people in their lives whom they can really call ‘Dear’ as well.” Ben&Ben hopes that music fans will instantly connect with the song and receive a very valid answer to the question, “How do I know when I’m sure about somebody?”
