In a historic first, Kelsey Merritt, the Filipina-American fashion model booked the ever-fabulous and well-anticipated Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show–the annual parade of air-hearts and air-kisses from the world’s biggest fashion models for the lingerie brand that cemented supermodel status for the likes of Tyra Banks, Naomi Campbell, Giselle Bundchen, Heidi Klum, and Alessandra Ambrosio.
In an Instagram post, Kelsey personally confirmed getting into one of the biggest runway shows for the year. She wrote, “WE DID IT PHILIPPINES!!!!!! 🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭 What an honor it is to be the first Filipino to walk in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2018!!! Ahhhhhh I can’t believe this!! Thank you soooo much…” She continued, “But most of all thank you to all my followers you guys are my rock!!! I couldn’t have done this without you guys. Thank you for your never ending support I LOVE Y’ALL para sainyo to!!!💕🇵🇭”
At the tail-end of August, Kelsey openly shared her journey towards getting into the show where she, among a handful of hopefuls tried their luck. Here she was posting snaps from her callbacks.
Prior to getting the coveted spot at the show’s lineup, Kelsey shared some of published work on the Victoria’s Secret website where she modeled some of the brand’s products.
