Here’s a Roundup of Remarkable Pinoy Pop Talent Introduced by Republic Records and Cornerstone Entertainment

Industry News

MANILA, Philippines—A collaboration between Republic Records Philippines and Cornerstone Entertainment, PPop Radar, recently celebrated the premiere of the next Asian generation of pop singers at the Brooklyn Warehouse in Recto, Manila.

With the powerful combination of Republic Records’ irrefutable brand in the worldwide music business and Cornerstone Entertainment’s collection of world-class Filipino artists, the launch highlighted another aspect of Filipino talent, Pinoy Pop, or P-Pop.

P-pop is a subgenre of OPM that focuses on modern pop music. Rising P-pop groups with roots in the K-pop music business have perfected the skill of not just singing, but also a combination of both singing and dancing with great production. They’re making their way to the world scene, exuding skill and aesthetics.

Because the greatest of the best will always shine, PPOP Radar presents the following stars, all of whom are eager to sing, dance, and radiate talent.

The Newest Boys in Town: AJAA

AJAA is new, exciting, and eager to pull on your emotions. The band name “AJAA” is an acronym of the names of the members, Ash, JC, Axel, and Alex. It is, however, a fantastic dedication to the common Korean term “Aja! “, which translates as “Fighting” “—exactly portraying their inner passion to rock the PPop scene. AJAA was made for the stage, with electric vocals, colorful graphics, and a splash of badass rap.

PPops’s Newest Caliber: G22

The Female alphas AJ, Jaz, Alfea, and Bianca may appear feminine gentle, but what lies beneath is only the impassioned exude confidence and ferocity. G22 debuted on February 25, 2022, as “Ppop’s Newest Caliber,” with a pop hit titled “Bang,” which lived up to its reputation—explosive graphics, engaging vocals, and superb dancing routines.

They have subsequently produced more songs such as “Babalik” and “Defy,” but their most recent single, “Takin’ Over,” has been chosen as the official theme song for the country’s most prestigious national pageant, Mutya ng Pilipinas. It was also their first release with UMG Philippines.

The Vocal Powerhouse Collective: Yes My Love

Yes My Love captures the voice of today’s youth. They’re not scared to try new genres since there’s no place for “No” with this vocal powerhouse ensemble. They’re unapologetic, bold, and eager to sing, dance, rap, and pose, with its members Niko, Eli, Brian, Joshua, RZ, and Jeff. While they are all powerful manly figures, they take pride in their hearts.

PPOP Monsters: VXON

VXON, like its namesake, has a vision—and a good one at that. C13, Sam, Patrick, Vince, and Franz are the members of this Filipino boy band. Last year, they made their debut with a track named “The Beast,” which brought them fans they now affectionately refer to as “VIXIES.”

They are, indeed, the Monsters of PPOP. With solid moves, stunning aesthetics, and incredible vocals to back them up, it’s no surprise they’ve released another track, “P.S,” accompanied by a music video—and there will be more to come.

The Philippine music landscape is growing, and with these new artists joining the ranks, there’s nowhere to go but up.
