Careless Music Marks 2021 Pipeline with New Artists and More Culture-Shaping Strategies

Industry News

MANILA, Philippines — Indie music label Careless Music sets the stage for their continuing commitment to bring Filipino artistry to the global arena when they recently shared the label’s status and upcoming plans for the year–starting off with new artists and brighter dreams.

Founder and Chairman, James Reid, who just released a new single this January, and CEO Jeffrey Oh announced the signing of young female artist Jolianne and internationally renowned street dance group, A-Team, in a recent exclusive trade launch shared with the press.

Reid noted, “We strive to bring change to how music is created, disseminated, and consumed. We feel that as technology flattens the earth, like never before, we want to be at the forefront of new trends.” He continued, “Our goal as a label is to create a platform where artistry can thrive in freedom, but also supported by meaningful guidance and help.”

Oh, in his talk, highlighted the core values that fuel the label’s ethos: creativity and collaboration. With these at the forefront, the label continues to succeed in venturing to strategic expansion by going beyond music production. This has been led in great lengths by developing The Finest, an in-house video production company and, through Brooklyn Industries, extending to the F&B and nightlife scene that are set to be unveiled in the next few months.

At the heart of these new frontiers for the label, they amplified their thrust in the industry by banking on their expertise in providing creative services that include talent management, brand & product integration, custom song creation, campaign management, and of course, video production.

Leading the entry of the label’s fresh artists on board is Jolianne, a rising 17-year-old R&B-pop singer-songwriter from Cebu City. She was a contestant of The Voice Kids Philippines (Season 2) and has opened for major international acts such as Air Supply, Michael Learns to Rock, and Stephen Bishop. Her first single under Careless Music, “Sublime”, was released on March 26, 2021.

A-Team, on the other hand, is a hip-hop dance group composed of the Philippines’ best dancers. Headed by award-winning and highly recognized hip-hop dance coach duo, The Ardas (Angelica and MJ Arda), the team has been consistently representing the Philippines and competing all over the world. They joined the 2014 World Hip Hop Dance Championship in Las Vegas, USA, where they were crowned 2014 Megacrew champions and were the first-ever Filipino team to bring home the gold in that division.

Careless Music is thrilled to have signed these new artists as the label grows consistently with talented artists and creatives. Revealing their content calendar, they excitingly disclosed the projects they have in store for both Jolianne and A-Team for 2021 and beyond as well as existing artist in their roster, including Sudan-born musician, Luka (formerly AstroKidd), hiphop artist Massiah, and of course, Nadine Lustre with upcoming follow-up to her talked about release. Following Reid’s March release of the official “Soda” music video, the multi-faceted artist is set to have consecutive single and music video drops in succeeding months of the year.

With all of these in store, game-changing Careless Music hopes that through all their artists, old and new, the label can develop content that are sure to help shape culture with their collaborators and audiences alike.
