MANILA, Philippines—Exhibiting a treasury inspired by intricate mosaics, sexual passions, and intimacy, the Francis Libiran brand showcased its most recent collection on October 7 in downtown Los Angeles as part of LA Fashion Week 2022, under the direction of the famed fashion designer himself.

Francis Libiran’s Spring/Summer 2023 collection, “MOSAIC: A Collection of Textiles and Pleasures,“ brought to life a fusion of looks inspired by items that capture the artistic imagination, gorgeous mosaics, and lovely human connections of sexual feelings and intimacy.

With numerous Grecian elements scattered across the set, the runway spectacles gave a wonderful ambiance to the performance. It had the feel of both ancient Greece and the present, as if the gods were the guests. Light extravaganza dominated the catwalk as well as the dramatic incorporation of smoke. The LED runway and backdrop both included carefully arranged curves, lines, and structures.

“I am very much exhilarated and euphoric to have accomplished this show seeing all of my hard work come to fruition. As the designs graced the runway with all the lights and stuff, I couldn’t help but smile from ear to ear. Truly, having no bias, this is one of the best shows I have ever enjoyed, and for that, I am honored and over the moon,” the fashion artist detailed.

The current collection was created using lines and structures, and was then translated into wearable works of art that stay true to the Francis Libiran brand.
The appealing concepts and aesthetic splendor of the artwork served as inspiration for the brand’s artistic touch on its products. His distinctive touch was art deco embroidery in his designs, which stood out as a distinctive feature of the collection.

A tranquil blue ensemble brilliantly displays the identity of the entire series of designs with its skilled decoration. The body’s transparent fabric lends a hint of mystery and sensuality, and the art deco design enriches the appearance.

A floor-length skirt and matching top with the same art deco elements are a stunning addition in tiger orange and are accentuated by the meticulous handiwork.
“I really wanted to still convey my identity by incorporating the styles I am known for with my interpretation of art. On the other hand, of course, I also tried and experimented with a lot of things—colors, fabrics—to give much more edge to this collection,” Francis shared.
