It’s happening! The virtual stage is set for young pop and R&B powerhouse Darren Espanto to hold an online birthday concert this weekend. D’ Birthday Concert (From Home) marks as the teen fan favorite’s 19th birthday celebration, remarkably held in the face of the new normal.
The multi-awarded singer and actor takes his musical prowess to new heights by turning the event into a benefit concert in aid of the ABS-CBN Pantawid ng Pag-Ibig campaign. Espanto is set to have top musical guests Moira Dela Torre and Gary Valenciano.
Espanto joins the ranks of top Filipino musical talents who staged birthday benefit concerts like Regine Velasquez-Alcasid and Sharon Cuneta, who all sought to help those deeply affected by the global pandemic. Early this year, the multi-hyphenate released a new track, “Sasagipin Kita” under MCA Music, to fan and critical acclaim. Last April, he was then appointed by United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), as its very first celebrity Youth Advocate for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with focus on climate action, biodiversity conservation and youth empowerment.
