Darren Espanto Raises Over P838K in 19th Birthday Virtual Benefit Concert

Young, multi-faceted performer Darren Espanto has marked his 19th birthday with an incredible achievement, raising funds for the common good. In celebration of his birthday, Espanto, through MCA Music, and in partnership with ABS-CBN, the teen music powerhouse, successfully staged a digital concert called, “D’ Birthday Concert (From Home)”, mounted all the way from Canada and broadcast to his global fans.

Streamed on the singer-actor’s official Facebook page with over 251,000 views to over 12,000 viewers, Espanto managed to raise a total of P838,206.29 for the benefit ABS-CBN’s Pantawid Ng Pag-ibig program. This will all be for the benefit of families and communities hit by the COVID-19 pandemic, and the sudden stop the city-wide lockdowns have impacted middle to low-income earners.

During the virtual concert, Espanto appeared with his sister, Lynelle in a song number, PHD Dancers to interpret some songs he performed, and celebrated recording stars Gary Valenciano and Moira Dela Torre as musical guests. Jem Florendo then served as the musical director.

In an Instagram post, the “Sasagipin Kita” singer wrote, “Thank you so much to everyone who supported my Birthday Concert this weekend! The final numbers are in… We raised ₱838, 206.69!!! This means so much to my team and I. I can only imagine how many will be blessed by this effort.”
