Nissan Goes Back to Nature with the World’s First Leaf Orchestra

Brand & Campaigns

MANILA, Philippines—In time for the Holiday season, Nissan, in the Philippines, reminds everyone of the beauty and importance of nature with a celebration of music told beautifully by the world’s first leaf orchestra performing beloved Christmas songs amidst one of the country’s largest natural rainforests.

Filmed in the Rajah Sikatuna Protected Landscape in Bohol, the popular Christmas carol Silent Night was performed gloriously by two of the few remaining leaf musicians in the country, accompanied by a musical ensemble.

Pioneered and widely-popularized by Philippine National Artist for Music Levi Celerio, a leaf musician uses a single leaf to produce music. The performance then aptly symbolizes the Nissan’s commitment to creating a sustainable future for everyone through electrified mobility with the Nissan LEAF.

“As we celebrate the holidays with our loved ones, it is also important for us to be reminded of the beauty of nature and why we need to safeguard it,” says Nissan Philippines President and Managing Director Atsushi Najima. “May this performance be an inspiration for everyone to start their own journey towards sustainability,” he adds.

The video of the performance can be viewed on Nissan Philippines’ official YouTube Channel. Learn more about the zero-emissions and fully-electric Nissan LEAF, visit nissan.ph
