Royal Deepens the Kulit Experience by Bringing Flare to Snacking

MANILA, Philippines—As proven by how visible it is in every household, Royal has been spreading kulit vibes among Filipinos for nearly a year. Being the country’s most popular fruit-flavored sparkling beverage and one of Coca-Cola Philippines‘ top brands, Royal launched a whimsical campaign in October 2021 to inspire more people to embrace their inner child. The Generation Kulit campaign encourages people to be vibrant and colorful in order to overcome the “gray” parts of daily life.

Designed to keep people’s smiles unbroken, Royal created the Generation Kulit Livestream online series as part of this campaign. The Generation Kulit Livestream, everyone’s newest Friday tambayan, where one can unwind, let loose, and hang out from the comfort of their own home, encourages people to end the week on a bright note.

During the first season, young-at-heart Filipino influencers and celebrities illustrated how to use Royal to reconcile everyday “grays” by awakening one’s inner kulit. Every live Friday night entertainment was jam-packed with engaging talks, wacky challenges, and rewards and surprises.

Pia Wurtzbach, the reigning Miss Universe 2015, detailed in one of the episodes what it means to be “beautifully kulit with a heart” and why adults should never lose their playful streak: “Important na hindi mawala ‘yung inner child or kulit natin. Huwag maging masyadong seryoso, at mag-enjoy lang because this helps in easing your worries. At the same time, nakakapagpasaya ka ng ibang tao.”

Season 1 ran for the whole month of October 2021, with the series coming back for a holiday edition episode in December.

SNACKulitan with Generation Kulit Livestream Extra

The second season, titled Generation Kulit Livestream Extra, premiered in June 2022 and incorporated something new: snacking!

Merienda, or snacking, has long been a popular way to spend time to enjoy with loved ones in the Philippines. Merienda is a great way for Filipinos to experience new varieties and dishes with their loved ones. But more importantly, Royal adds color to snacking.

Royal’s Generation Kulit Livestream Extra focuses on interesting and creative ways for customers to enjoy a good time while snacking. Since Episode 3, the livestream series has featured games and activities that revolve around munching that celebrity/influencer guests enjoy.

Among the famous faces featured this season are the main Generation Kulit Barkada: Luis Manzano, Kim Chiu, Seth Fedelin, Kyline Alcantara, and Melai Cantiveros, actors who are well-known for their quirky personalities. 

More fun-loving stars were also welcomed to the show: Maymay Entrata, Eric “Eruption” Tai, Ashley Rivera, and even TikTok-famous influencers like Nana Silayro. Everyone was able to showcase what being Generation Kulit is all about—and did not hesitate to snack it out!

Additionally, a substantial portion of each show was allotted to the Royal Snack Contest, a user-generated content challenge focused on snacking in which viewers could participate for the chance to win incredible prizes.

To make sure the snack challenges would be exceptional yet doable, Royal worked with TikTok-famous chef turned influencer Hazel Cheffy who is recognized for creating simple recipes for beloved Filipino meals and for demonstrating them in a style that is both kulit and humorous.

Kulit is forever

The Generation Kulit Livestream Extra showcases how Filipinos get together over snacks. When partnered with Royal, everyone’s kulit is undoubtedly ignited.

Generation Kulit will serve as a continuous reminder to never lose one’s inner kulit, just as Royal is the ultimate beverage to loosen up and savor life to the fullest. 

As Luis Manzano once said on the show: “Huwag natin alisin ang kulit sa buhay natin. Iba ang gising, iba ang tulog, pag dinadagdagan natin ng kulit ang buhay.”
