The biggest life drawing session returns to Manila! Pens N’Brushes Philippines presents the 8th edition of The Life Drawing Session on June 8, 2019 (Saturday) at 6:00 PM at Pineapple Lab, Makati City.
The coming latest edition is in celebration of the Pride Month featuring the Renaissance Nudity. One of the defining features of art during the Renaissance period is the nude—the unclothed human form.
With the influence of classical sculptures and the study of live models, famous renaissance artists such as Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael, Michelangelo, Dürer, and others transformed the course of western art history by using nude as the center of their arts.
Viewers’ attitude towards the nude may be varied throughout the centuries, but the exceptional representation of the unclothed human body in the famous masterpieces continues to impress millions of people until today.
“This is the third year that Pens N’ Brushes has hosted the session in Manila, and every year it gets bigger and better. Each edition, we see new faces from different ages and level of expertise expressing their creativity and sharing their artwork with the jammers after. The Life Drawing Session gives everyone a chance to come together not just to focus on their own creativity, but also to learn more from each other. It ties back to the organization’s mission—to inspire art virtuosos and amateur artists to further their skills in a fun, casual set-up and to amplify their love of art in an open, free-spirited platform,” shares Joy del Rosario, one of the partners of Pens N’Brushes Philippines.
The session showcases live models in various poses for the artists to work on, and in between, guests get a unique opportunity to mingle around, chill out with the set of performers and adapt techniques and inspirations from everyone.
