This Mother’s Day Spotify is celebrating the moms who juggle the demands of parenting with life in the spotlight. Spotify’s global list of most-streamed moms is topped by Cardi B, whose first child, Kulture Kiari Cephus, was born in July 2018. Mom-of-three, Beyoncé comes in second, followed by Adele, P!nk andShakira.
And for anyone looking for a way to celebrate their own superstar mom for Mother’s Day, look no further than a trend started by Spotify’s very own listeners; creating a personalized playlist just for mom.
Spotify noticed Happy Mother’s Day playlists have grown in the last few years, with their streams increasing 19% from 2016 to 2018. Overall, users have created more than 7.8 million mom-themed playlists.
“A Song for Mama” by Boyz To Men is the most-added song to Happy Mothers Day playlists created by listeners, followed by Meghan Trainor’s track “Mom” which features vocals from her IRL mom, Kelli Trainor. ABBA’s “Dancing Queen” and Bruno Mars’ “Just the Way You Are” are also popular picks.
And while thoughtfully-chosen tracks make each playlist special and unique to each mom, some listeners add an even more personalized touch by uploading a photo of their mom, or a nostalgic pic as the playlist cover.
It’s easy to personalize your playlist cover, just follow these steps:
- You’ll need to use the desktop app
- Click the playlist image
- Click CHOOSE IMAGE to upload a new cover image that you own, or REPLACE IMAGE to replace an existing image (your new image will need to be a .jpeg file no bigger than 4MB).
- Click SAVE.
Be sure to check out our image guidelines for the types of .jpegs and images that are acceptable, and we recommend making sure Mom or anyone else appearing in the photo approves of your use of their image. You could also make your playlist private in case she’s not wild about anyone else seeing the image you’ve chosen. To make it private, right click the playlist name under playlists in your library and select “make secret.”
